You get to see a bunch of alien races in here, struggles for power, battles that are just too good to spoil in any review, and so much more that will leave you wanting more of this amazing story, and luckily for you, this is only the first book of Vernor’s trilogy called Zones of Thought.

The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin

The last book in our best science fiction books list is this fascinating masterpiece by a Chinese author Liu Cixin. You can also find it on our list of the top hard science fiction books.

Liu writes about a story that takes place during the Cultural Revolution in China and it follows a devastating event after an alien civilization that is on the brink of extinction finally catches signals that humans have been sending into space and finds their last hope on Earth as an invasion by them is approaching.

The story then follows the people on Earth as they are preparing to either welcome this alien race or destroy them depending on their behavior. A truly exciting story is to be expected by this amazing science fiction book.
